Chairman Obama, and HIS Great Leap Forward

We may see the Chinese of that generation as being complacent or ignorant to what was going on. They allowed their government to set their goals for them and even take all of their food. Our sweeping generalizations may judge them harshly. However, I put forth that today we are in a very similar situation.

Lets compare lists and see how Chairman Obama has been doing here in the U.S.:

1. A cult of personality. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a president of the U.S. have such a cult of personality as Obama does. It will eventually die (as most all cults of personality do), but his following have blinded themselves to believe that Chairman Obama can do no wrong.
2. Wild promises from Chairman Obama to his people. Change? I haven’t seen any yet.
3. Removing the intelligent people from key positions and replacing them with cronies from the ranks of his devout followers. We have seen this with Chairman O’s choice of diplomats. Usually only 10% of the chosen diplomats should be non-career diplomats. Chairman Obama has reversed this statistic, choosing only about 10% of his diplomats from career diplomats. Everyone else has been chosen from those who donated large sums to his campaign.
4. Taking over the Auto Industry of the country, having it all be owned and run by the government, and making the citizens working there state employees. We’ve seen it with General Motors. The government now owns most of GM, and the employees now work for the government.
5. Having inexperienced cronies run the major industries of the country. Again, just look at GM. I fear greatly for when the government takes control of health care.
6. Having the out-of-touch senators come to a meeting in order to decide how much their constituents could contribute. Have you seen the total amount our senators have spent of your money? Almost $40,000 per man, woman, and child in the bailouts ( http://www.gevelop.com/blog/2009/04/19/putting-the-bailout-money-into-perspective/ ).
7. Having the out-of-touch leaders report on the progress ( http://money.newsmax.com/streettalk/altman_bailout_effective/2009/01/12/170315.html ). Have you seen any progress from the $40,000 you are contributing? I sure haven’t. Jobs are still getting harder to find, the unemployment rate continues to rise, house values continue to plummet (though probably not for long at the rate the government is printing money…), and the economy is still in bad shape.
8. Having an out-of-touch chairman, surrounded by his cronies who tell him how good of a job he is doing, make major economic decisions based on what his out-of-touch cronies tell him. Does anyone watch the press conferences from the white house? What happened to healthy criticism? What about his choice of staff members?

I put it forward that Obama and his administration are attempting to take us on a “Great Leap Forward” in an attempt to follow Karl Marx’s ideals. They want to skip Socialism, and jump straight to Communism. And they want to do it using economic theory based from the same time period as Mao Zedong. They only ask for YOUR support! Won’t you join Chairman O’s cult of personality?

While I doubt that 40 million Americans will die because of this administration, I wonder how much of our own freedom and the freedom of our great grandchildren will be lost because of it. How will they judge us, as they look back and see what we let happen in our own country. Will their sweeping generalizations of this generation show how we lacked the spine to stand up to tyrranny in our own country? I hope not.
